A message from Mrs. Tan

Dear Parents,

It is with great pride that I inform you that after submitting a CD for review, our combined SCHS-CHS Orchestra was invited to the 2009 National Orchestra Festival. The NOF is held under the auspices of the American String Teacher's Association. The festival will take place from March 18-21, in Atlanta, Georgia. These dates are approximate, depending on transportation and hotel arrangements. The expectation is that every student will perform with us in Atlanta.

An announcement of a parent meeting was sent home with your student on June 1 with a request for the deposit for the trip. We have received many deposits, but are still in need of every student's deposit. These are due as soon as possible. I must make a deposit to the NOF over the summer. Please send in your deposit of fifty dollars (one-hundred if you are able) payable by check or money order to "South Charleston HS" with "NOF Orchestra Trip" in the memo line to our Treasurer, Joan Rodberg.

The above (and more) was sent in an email to all students and/or parents. If you missed that email, or need more information, don't hesitate to contact Mike Keller at mk072653@gmail.com; be sure to put "orchestra trip" in the subject line. The officers of our parent organization are:

President: Debbie McClanahan
Vice President: Michael Keller
Treasurer: Joan Rodberg
Secretary: Patricia Page
